ONLINE & VIRTUAL DRIVER’S EDUCATION

During uncertain times, you want to choose a reputable driving school that has a flexible refund policy. Our no-hassle refund policy allows students to cancel up to 4-business days prior to the start of a class and receive 100% refund!

All JCCC Certified Driver Ed Instructors are also Kansas State educators who hold a valid teaching endorsement. The same Certified Driving Instructor will be there for the student from start to finish.

Get a jump start on driving with our two new Driver's Education options:

Driver Education (Self-Paced Online with Drive Lessons)

Online Driver's Education is a comprehensive 20-hour self-paced course.

  • Students will complete the course at their leisure.
  • No live Zoom sessions to watch.
  • Students will complete assignments, discussions, watch videos, and take an online comprehensive final exam.

This comprehensive online program lets participants learn at their pace while receiving in-depth theory-based driver training and guidance from a Certified Driver’s Education instructor.

Driver Education (Virtual Classroom with Drive Lessons)

Our Virtual Driver’s Education is an 8-hour live instructor-led course through Zoom.

  • Virtual courses cover the same theory based training as our traditional face-to-face classes.
  • Delivered asynchronous with an actual State Certified Drivers Education Instructor (no pre-taped lectures).
  • Students must be available to attend all theory-based course sessions and remain within camera view during virtual course instruction.

Regardless of the format you choose,

  • Course materials and handouts will be made available through Canvas, our online learning management system.
  • The Kansas Department of Revenue requires the Kansas Handbook test to be administered in-person. Once face-to-face courses are able to resume at JCCC, students may sign-up to complete a written Kansas handbook test on campus.
  • Available lab-times with flexible options to complete the in-person written KS handbook test.
  • After passing The Kansas Handbook test, students will receive their instructional permit and can start practicing for the driving portion of the course.

If you are already registered for a face-to-face course later in the year and would like to transfer to one of the online options, contact our registration office. Call 913-469-2323 or email CEregistration@jccc.edu to complete the transfer.
