Employment as a RiderCoach is a seasonal position! Most courses in Kansas are offered between March and November. Typically coaches teach between four and 20 courses each year as their schedule permits.

Each RiderCoach Preparation Course (RCPC) lasts about seven consecutive full-days. It consists of both pre-course activities (class observations/homework) and post-course mentoring (supervised teaching) before full certification is achieved.

RiderCoaches need to be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, have two years of varied motorcycling experience, a good driving record and no felony convictions.

RiderCoaches will be certified to teach Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) courses at JCCC and other licensed Kansas Schools that offer MSF approved courses. Once you complete the RCPC you will also need to become a state approved certified Instructor through the Kansas Department of Education.
